Legde (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the Legde platform at legdeapp.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.
We are committed to complying with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you create an account or use the Service, we may collect:
- Full name and email address
- Phone number
- Country of residence
- Account credentials (password stored as a secure hash, never in plain text)
Property and Tenant Data
As a landlord using the Service, you may enter:
- Property details (name, address, unit information)
- Tenant records (names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses)
- Lease details (start/end dates, rent amounts, terms)
- Maintenance requests and related notes
Payment Information
We integrate with Paystack for payment processing. We do not collect or store payment card details. Paystack handles all sensitive payment information directly. We store only transaction metadata:
- Transaction amounts and dates
- Payment references and status
- Payment method type (card, bank transfer, etc.)
Uploaded Files
You may upload photos related to maintenance requests or other property management activities. These files are stored securely using Vercel Blob storage.
Usage Data
We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the date and time of your visits. This data helps us improve the Service and diagnose technical issues.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process and facilitate rent payments and financial tracking
- Send transactional emails (lease reminders, rent reminders, payment confirmations, announcements) via our email provider, Resend
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
- Generate reports and analytics for your property management needs
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:
- Paystack — Payment processing. Handles all payment card data directly. Subject to Paystack's privacy policy.
- Resend — Email delivery for transactional messages (reminders, confirmations, announcements). Receives recipient email addresses and message content.
- Vercel — Hosting and file storage. Our application and uploaded files are hosted on Vercel's infrastructure.
We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to perform its function. We do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@legdeapp.com. We will process your request promptly and confirm once deletion is complete.
6. Your Rights Under NDPR
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of Access — You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification — You may request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to Deletion — You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it, including:
- All passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage — we never store passwords in plain text
- All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Our application is hosted on secure, managed infrastructure (Vercel) with regular security updates
- Database access is restricted and protected by authentication credentials
- Payment card data is handled entirely by Paystack and never touches our servers
While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you promptly in the event of a data breach that affects your personal information.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside of Nigeria, including in the United States (where our hosting provider, Vercel, operates infrastructure). Where your data is transferred internationally, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with NDPR requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
